What is Acupuncture?

Acupuncture is an traditional alternative therapy that originated in China. It involves the insertion of small pain-free acupuncture needles at specific acupuncture points on the body to promote pain relief, reduce swelling, and decrease sympathetic system activity. Acupuncture is safe and effective, often providing relief when traditional medical treatment has failed. If you are looking for acupuncture in MIssissauga, our clinic provides an ideal environment with a highly experienced acupuncturist registered with the College of Ontario of Acupuncturists (CTCMPAO).

What Can Acupuncture Do?

When applied to specific points on the body, acupuncture treatment can stimulate the nervous system. This may help alter your experience of pain and activate other natural signals and hormones involved in the body’s natural regulation system, such as acupuncture for sciatica near me.

For musculoskeletal issues in particular, it also works by encouraging  natural healing within tissues, thus reducing inflammation. Hence, it eliminates the need of drugs to control pain or reduce the symptoms caused by an illness or injury.

Medical Acupuncture

Our registered acupuncturists use painfree needles to stimulate specific points on the body to relieve pain, reduce tension, and support lasting health.

Clinical Massage (Tuina)

Tuina massage, a Chinese-style clinical deep tissue massage, combines pressure, stretching, and manipulation using the hands and elbows to restore mobility and relieve tension throughout the body to help resolve muscular and joint pain.

Acupressure

Acupressure is a technique rooted in Traditional Chinese Medicine that uses targeted finger and hand pressure to stimulate specific points along the body’s energy pathways.

Cupping Therapy

Cupping therapy uses gentle suction to stimulate circulation, release muscle tension, and draw out stagnation from the body. The result is a soothing sense of relief, improved mobility, and renewed energy throughout the body.

Gua Sha Therapy

Gua Sha or “Scraping therapy” is one of the most important and lesser-known treatment tools used in the practice of Traditional Chinese Medicine. A type of Instrument-Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (IASTM), it uses gentle scraping techniques to release muscle knots, break down adhesions, and stimulate cellular repair for quicker recovery of affected areas.

Stretch Therapy

Stretch therapy uses guided elongation of muscles and soft tissues to improve flexibility, mobility, and joint range of motion. With a trained practitioner’s support, it helps relieve tension, enhance circulation, and restore balance across the body and mind.
